Last weekend, I invited the neighbor girl on an atv ride in the BRF area. She has never been on an atv in her life. She’s got a cabin on the lake just up the road from me and shows up on weekends for the peace and quiet, something you don’t get in the Chicago area. On average they will show up twice a month during the summer. Since last summer she has been wanting to do this. So............ with a borrowed machine (don’t tell the daughter, she wonders where all that gas goes, lol) and safety gear a small group of us headed to Neillsville to meet up with a group of 17 other machines. A few riders were from the nation. She had a blast. The pace was just right for her to keep up with the rest. It was a good day.

All week I have been getting E-mails. She is still excited about the ride. So this morning I get another E-mail with a craigslist link to a 2008 800 sportsman with only 14 hours run time. The poor guy is going thru a divorce and has to sell his quad. Red in color, nice tires pretty sharp. Cheap. So I’m thinking maybe I should encourage her to get this quad. I have a 2005 600 sportsman, blue in color, runs good except with a little problem with the carb. Not real noticeable.

Now follow me here. The nice guy that I am. She could drop the quad off at my place. I know she will be gone for at least a week giving me time to look it over real good. Maybe..... swap the plastic around, exchange the tires, wheels and accessories around. Heck I would even wash and wax the machine for her. I could end up with a blue 800, something I always wanted. She would have a red........ sportsman. Something that she has just purchased, except that the carb may need to be rebuilt. But you have to expect this when you buy a use machine. Right..............

Now, I haven’t really thought this all the way through. But I think I can pull it off. What do you all think. Is it possible to exchange all the needed components to make this work.................. devil.gif devil.gif devil.gif

Now, where's that phone #. I got to give the girl a little encouragement.................

2005 Polaris 600 Twin, my ride...........

That's a devious plan, but I like it.

ok i have thought about this all day and i think i have a better way.
after your done she will just give it to you.
before she gets a chance to ride. you need to limit the throttle so the 500 runs circles around the 800. then you start the story of how bad you feel that she got taken and offer to trade.

Bbyton is just kidding! He would could never do that.....he rides a canoe loser.gif ....trust me, she'll notice the difference! lachtot.gif Besides....I'm sure Star gave her a Nation sticker so she's probably on here reading all about the little "plan". So even if he were serious (which he isn't) she'd catch him....

Gotmudd is right.......... I was just kidding about swapping plastic. The gal that did ride with me last weekend is seriously looking for a machine and did find a sweet deal on a Red 800 sportsman.

LOL Well my friend, Daddy did not raise a fool. You are too inocent to follow through! This is hillarious! Too bad the machine is gone! Dang! Thank you and the all the other riders for allowing me the great pleasure of this ride. I could have stayed out all day, May 8th (your birthday!). Yes, just that time out and I feel the addiciton coming on strong. I find myself looking at machines quite often, lol I should get a hitch on the jeep! Might be a great start. Thanks to Fred and Star for the ride and the great feedback on my driving! I look forward to another ride soon and meeting more of the riders!

“Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood—the virtues that made America. The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living and the get-rich-quick theory of life.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
