The family wheeled Granddad out on the lawn, in his wheelchair, where the activities for his 100th birthday were taking place. Granddad couldn't speak very well, but he could write notes when he needed to communicate.
After a short time out on the lawn, Granddad started leaning off to the right, so some family members grabbed him, straightened him up, and stuffed pillows on his right. A short time later, he started leaning off to his left, so again the family grabbed him and stuffed pillows on his left. Soon he started leaning forward, so the family members again grabbed him, then tied a pillowcase around his waist to hold him up.
A nephew who arrived late came up to Granddad and said, "Hi, Granddad, you're looking good! How are they treating you?"
Granddad took out his little notepad and slowly wrote a note to the nephew..."They won't let me fart."
